How horrible!! Making America a much worse place by not taking 85 million dollars!

This is a groundless attack. Obama doesn’t need public financing. He has raised an astounding amount of money from individual contributors so why waste public funds? The neo-cons are now trying to attack him because this means he will be able to outspend the bejeezus out of McCain, who cannot match Obamas fundraising abilities if he also declines public campaign financing. Essentially trying to call him on this change looks exactly like what it is, pathetic and desperate.

It’s disappointing, isn’t it? While I had hoped that Obama would be the positive force he has continually claimed to be, it looks like we’re back to politics as usual.

I find more interesting the number of people who did not believe this would happen. I think they are in for a Republican type awakening. He is a wonderful speaker, but reality has not hit him yet…or atleast…it is just beginning in that “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” way!

Clearly you people fail to realize that campaign finance reform is necessary beyond McCain-Feingold to circumvent the problems we have in terms of the crop of candidates we are getting. By not taking Gov’t money, Obama is basically agreeing to run on a “whoever can raise more moeny, wins” campaign. Which is what’s wrong with the world. $$$ = Power. Not Brains = Power.

When you take gov’t money, you cap the amount you can spend on the election. When you turn it down, you can spend as much as you want. See the problem? Of course not…you follow Obama with blind loyalty like Germans followed Adolph.

Funny. When a Republican promises one thing and does another, you guys are all over it. But when Obama breaks a PROMISE, we are “racist” or “anti-american.”

CHANGE does not meen flip-flopping. The man clearly broke the first of many promises (if he some how becomes our next president).
