Father’s Day Cards Banned in Scottish Schools
File this under WTF? Scottish schools banning Fathers Day cards. Under what sort of logical reasoning can you possibly ban Father’s Day cards from school, work, anything? Well here’s your answer: “The politically correct policy was quietly adopted at schools “in the interests of sensitivity” over the growing number of lone-parent and same-sex households.” So now we’re to the point in society where traditional fathers cannot be celebrated because other peoples extremely sensitive nature and/or delicate sensibilities.
They’re right. This is a terrible image. How offensive this must be to single family homes and same sex couples.

Huh? I don’t get it – wouldn’t this be offensive to same-sex male couples who must surely celebrate father’s day?
I’m gay and the only thing I find offensive are the ever-so-hare-brained ideas coming not from other gays and lesbians, but the bleeding-hearted ultra-liberal straight policy-making middle class. In their “infinite wisdom”, they appoint themselves as connoseurs of what could “potentially” be offensive – to gays, to blacks, to whoever and whatever (everything they’re not).
Maybe they’re trying to make up for projecting their own bias. What idiots.
I agree with Elisa. Quite frankly, I’m stunned that this wasn’t in the U.S. However, I do think most of the time these hare-brained ideas originate from one or two people. The rest just follow along because they don’t want to be accused of being insensitive or prejudiced. Guilt works wonders in the public forum. ~ Daryl
I think you nailed it Elisa. What a horrible idea this is to try to take away a holiday meant to celebrate the joy of fatherhood. How counterproductive! Are they going to ban Mother’s Day cards too?
