Madness Reply
In the short time that I’ve been publishing MadnessLetters I have been privileged to receive all sorts of hate mail, encouragement, etc. however every now and then I receive an email that just begs for a reply.
In yesterday’s Weekend Insanity I had a brief one sentence blurb on the recent misfortune of Lawrence Phillips entitled, “Lawrence Phillips tragic and stupid fall from grace.” Admittedly not the best title but appropriate given his utter stupidity. A mensa candidate decided to write in giving his or her two cents.
The readers comments are in black, you can also see them on the site. My replies in red.
“Go to http://www.lawrencephillips.info to read the truth about Lawrence Phillips which media will not publish although they have received this information over and over.” News flash the media doesn’t care about an athelete who hasn’t done sh*t since college. Your version of the truth is debatable at best andis most definitely bias. Let’s examine what wikipedia has to say. Wow, what do you know wikipedia can’t get through the first sentence without mentioning his, “numerous conflicts with law enforcement.” No you’re right, he sounds like a stand up guy.
Media spoke with Phillips’ attorney on the day of sentencing but refused to print anything she said-rather they deceptively said she did not return telephone calls! You have to be kidding me. The media won’t report a convicted criminal’s attorney’s opinion!?
Notice that statements of (alleged) victims are never quoted. (It’s not alleged once someone gets convicted of the actual crime the witnesses were brought in to testify about.) Flores’ statement during Phillips’ sentencing was that his “leg was hurt during the ACCIDENT”!!! Selective hype comes from those (prosecutor, media, etc.) who care nothing about alleged victims, other than to use them for their own agenda!!! Right, exactly, that’s what their job is – to care about getting a conviction, what you refer to as their “agenda.” The media reports the facts of the case e.g. his conviction(s).
Regularly read the website above to keep updated about appeals, where the cover-ups and deception that media, prosecutors and judges have gotten away with so far (nice plug) will be exposed–this time the end will be different!!! HA. You think you’re going to make a difference. How cute.
Time will tell it all and California Supreme Court has opened up the process!!! Good luck with that.
People stop being sheep!!! Stop blindly hating & seek the truth! Why is everyone down on sheep? I like sheep they’re tasty and supply quality wool. Anyone else tired of being called sheep because we don’t agree with a college students recent take on the world?
On August 21, 2005, Phillips was arrested for assault after allegedly driving a car into three teenagers, following a dispute with the teens during a pick-up football game in Los Angeles, California. At the time of the arrest, Phillips was wanted by San Diego in connection with two alleged domestic abuse incidents involving a former girlfriend, who claimed that Phillips choked her to the point of unconsciousness during one of the incidents. In addition, Los Angeles police were seeking Phillips in connection with yet another, separate domestic abuse allegation that occurred previously in Los Angeles.
In March, 2006, the Associated Press reported that Phillips had been ordered to stand trial on felony assault charges stemming from the August 21, 2005 incident. The assigned judge dismissed two counts of child abuse and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.
On October 10, 2006, Phillips was found guilty of seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon. On October 3, 2008, Phillips was sentenced to 10 years in State Prison.
