Heath Ledger to get Oscar Nod for Dark Knight?
At this point we’re all aware of Heath Ledger’s tragic passing and the upcoming release of the sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight. There’s been a lot of controversy around the release of the movie. Should they release it? Did Ledger finish the vocals, etc. All help to contribute to hype. Question is how good is this movie and Heath’s performance as the Joker?

Critic’s are “ravving” about Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker. Saying Ledger is Oscar bound and better than Jack. Obviously lofty praise. Normally I would reserve judgement and watch the movie myself first but given Hollywood’s sychopantic nature to kiss it’s own ass I would agree, Heath will, at the very least, get a nomination and from the looks of the previews he probably deserves it.
I think my favorite quote is from Rolling Stone writer Peter Travers who says, “The haunting and visionary Dark Knight soars on the wings of untamed imagination.” Ok, so it’s good? In his review Travers quipps, “The Dark Knight creates a place where good and evil — expected to do battle — decide instead to get it on and dance. “I don’t want to kill you,” Heath Ledger’s psycho Joker tells Christian Bale’s stalwart Batman. “You complete me.” Don’t buy the tease. He means it.”
